Group Manager Women’s Wellness Innovation
I love my profession! I am trained as a Food Scientist and have worked in the food industry for over 13 years. Graduated from Cornell University in 1996 with a M.S. in Food Science and a minor in Biochemistry and from California State University, Chico in 1994 with a B.S. in Dietetics and a minor in Chemistry. I started and have continued my career at Frito-Lay in the Research & Development focused on product development. I have held numerous positions of increasing responsibility including Scientist launching fat free WOW! Potato Chips made with Olestra; Project Scientist developing a portfolio of snack crackers; and Manager developing innovation for Quaker Lite Snacks and Bars. Currently I am a Group Manager for Women’s Wellness Innovation focused on developing long term health & wellness innovation for our newest brands targeted toward women – Smartfood and Flat Earth. While working at Frito-Lay I continued my professional development by achieving a Certificate of Culinary Arts from Collin County Community College in 2006 and certification from the RCA as a Certified Culinary Scientist. I believe the future for product development is in combining food science with culinary arts. This is why I serve with honor as a commissioner on the RCA Certification Commission. |
